Palestine: UNRWA workers protest

In a statement, the UNRWA Workers’ Union explained that the strike is against “the cuts and budgetary reductions imposed by UNRWA on Palestinian refugees.” The restrictions also affect the professional stability of all employees whose salaries have not been increased for a long time.

It is worth noting that 3,700 people work in the different structures (education, health, emergency services, etc.) of UNRWA in the West Bank.

The union has called for an end to repressive practices against its members who are often threatened with dismissal and salary deductions. The President of the UNRWA Staff Union in Gaza called for the cancellation of all sanctions against the President of the trade union in Palestine.
