In a statement issued for this purpose on December 11, the Syndicate appreciated the efforts made by lecturers to fill vacancies and perform their work for free, and demanded the allocation of a paragraph in the 2023 Budget Law that secures their tenure within the Ministry of Education.
It is worth noting that lecturers in Iraq are included among the unemployed because they do not receive payment for their work. They had several protests to demand the inclusion of a clause in the 2023 budget that would allow them to be transferred from “lecturers” for free to teachers with permanent contracts.
