The French company Total Energy sold its Mauritanian subsidiary Total Mauritania to the Moroccan company Aqua Africa, which specializes in the distribution of fuels. The employees were notified of this last October. Despite Total Energy’s assertion of preserving the employees’ rights as a condition before transferring the ownership of the establishment, the workers expressed their dissatisfaction with the verbal pledge and demanded a written document that preserves their earnings for them, and “guarantees the continuity of seniority.”
Total Energy did not respond to the letter it received at the end of last November for this purpose from the employees.
