In a radio statement, the representative of the Tunisian government stated that the aim of the agreement is to protect the rights of Tunisians working in Libya by registering on the Libyan wafid platform. He called on irregular workers in Libya to seek to regularize their situation so that they can enjoy their rights by securing or guaranteeing their wages.
The spokesman explained that registering on the platform guarantees Tunisia the follow-up of its citizens and intervention when needed. He stated that the official number of Tunisian workers in Libya is about 10,000, and that twice that number of workers are present in an informal way and their rights are not guaranteed.
