The national coordination of “Teachers who were forced to be contractual” announced the organization of protests in front of the courts, refusing to prosecute teachers in the city of Sefrou and the Jerada because of their protests to “demand their legitimate rights.”
The committee, also, denounced the deduction from wages for amounts ranging between 1000 dirhams (about 93$) and 1600 dirhams (about 149$) because of the strike.
The coordination, which represents 119,000 teachers, called again for a national strike on November 25 to denounce what it described as “sham trials” of teachers. In the same vein, it expressed its adherence to its chief demand, that is integration within the public service.
It is worth noting that protests started since the end of last February against the rulings issued by the Court of First Instance in Rabat against 45 of their colleagues. Forty-four of them were sentenced to two-month suspended imprisonment and a fine. One contractual teacher was sentenced to three months in prison with force.
