Protestors in the Ma’an had a sit-in in front of the governorate building. The retirees demanded their re-inclusion in the health insurance system applicable to them in the company since 2000. They delivered a letter to the governor of Ma’an to submit it to the concerned authority to consider their case with the administration of the Phosphate Company.
In their letter, the retirees stated that they were forced to subscribe to a special fund called the “Post-Retirement Health Insurance Fund”, which was deducted from their salaries when they were working. When the company was privatized in August 2022, their insurance was transferred to civil insurance in the Ministry of Health without offering any answers to the previous fund.
Therefore, the retirees called for an investigation into the health insurance file at the Insurance Fund.
