Noting a sharp increase in the number of expulsions to third countries and European Union (EU) member states, Eurostat revealed that 96,550 people were ordered to leave the EU in the second quarter of 2022. France was the European country that issued the highest number of expulsion orders.
Eurostat data also revealed that the majority of European expulsion orders were issued against citizens of five countries, including three from the Maghreb. Algerians ranked first on the European expulsion lists, followed by Moroccans. Tunisians ranked fifth after Albanians and Pakistanis.
