The drivers called for safety tools to be made available to them and for the corridors that cross the tracks to be equipped with the necessary traffic lights to avoid accidents.
The strike followed the derailment of two goods trains, the first in the Chlef region in western Algeria and the second in the Lakhdaria region near the capital on 22 July.
