The medical services stated that the injured suffered from suffocation and were complaining of dizziness, shortness of breath, and severe coughing. A precautionary cordon was placed around the scene of the accident.
The captain of the workers in the port of Aqaba stated that the responsible authorities in the port had previously received a warning from the trade union on the poor condition of the handling equipment in the port, especially those used for heavy goods, confirming that the handling equipment from which the tanker fell was old.
