IOM reports significant increase in irregular migrants in Libya

Explaining that this phenomenon confirms the one observed at the beginning of 2021, IOM stated that the increase in the number of irregular migrants in the country is significant and continuous.

IOM explained this increase by the lifting of health restrictions, the improvement of the Libyan labour market, the decrease in the unemployment rate among foreign workers and the end of the armed conflict, recalling that these factors coincide with the usual arrival of seasonal foreign workers in Libya which is usually observed between March and May.
