In a statement, the federation, which includes 17 municipalities, warned against the increases that the government intends to approve in the field of transport and social assistance. The increase will lead to the bankruptcy of the municipalities if they do not receive their dues for the past three years.
The statement also mentioned that the increase will lead to the cessation of maintenance and cleaning work and the disruption of the payment of salaries to municipal workers.
The federation announced that if the concerned administrations of the Ministries of Finance and Interior do not respond to the protestors’ demands, they will enter in an open strike.
