It comes after a meeting organised by the trade union on 31 May at the headquarters of the Yemeni Confederation of Labour Unions (YCLU). The meeting addressed the situation of the Aden Electricity Company and the government’s decision to purchase a motor vessel for about $130 million.
YCLU said that this purchase only serves the interests of certain corrupt parties and will not help improve the situation of the services. The organisation called for the rehabilitation of the existing stations, pointing out that the resumption of their activities will only cost 50 million dollars.
