The Syndicate calls on the government and local bodies to implement the Cabinet’s decision for the year 2021 on assigning a nature-of-work bonus to engineers in the public sector, military personnel, and workers in local bodies. Engineers are asking for a 120% premium.
A statement by the syndicate stated that the strike will start on the first of next June, and will include general engineers in the public sector, while the participation of engineers of municipalities and local bodies will be temporarily suspended until the Ministry of Local Government responds to the correspondence related to the labour dispute addressed to it last April.
