A trade union official for workers legally authorized to work in Ceuta and Melilla stated that the statements of Spanish officials did not meet the aspirations of Moroccan workers in Ceuta and Melilla, about 8,600, due to the lack of clarity regarding the date of opening the crossings, adding that these workers have no idea about their future.
It is worth noting that the Spanish government announced last Thursday the return to the full normal situation for the passage of goods through the cities of Ceuta and Melilla, and the gradual reopening of border crossings, following discussions that took place between it and the Moroccan authorities.
