In a joint statement issued with the Electricity Workers’ Trade Union on 1 April, the union denounced the unfair dismissal of workers at the Ar Rumaylah and Shatt-el-Arab power stations. The dismissal was carried out after the two plants were transferred by the Ministry of Electricity to the company Kar.
The statement blamed the Ministry of Electricity for the dismissals, saying that it should have made the company sign an agreement regarding the fate of these workers before the transfer of the two power plants took effect.
