The meeting addressed the agenda of the International Labour Conference, the report of the Committee of Experts of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for the year 2021 and selection mechanisms. ITUC also presented its annual campaign programme for trade union rights and freedoms.
The issue of several Arab countries, including Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan, was also presented during the meeting, in relation to the non-observance of Conventions 87, 98, and 111 by some Arab governments.
The meeting was part of a series of annual preparatory meetings held in the Arab region, Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Europe to identify priority cases in various countries around the world that will be taken up by the ITUC during the International Labour Conference.
