Moroccan workers in Ceuta and Melilla call on their government to find them new job alternatives

After failing to obtain their compensation from the Spanish authorities, Moroccan workers in Ceuta and Melilla have called on the Moroccan government to find them professional alternatives.

The workers’ union representative said that Moroccan border workers are living in extremely difficult conditions and that they need urgent intervention. The trade unionist recalled that before the crisis, about 3,500 workers went to Ceuta and 5,000 to Melilla daily.

During a meeting with Moroccan MPs, the representative called for these workers to be taken care of until the borders are reopened. He also called on MEPs to put pressure on the Spanish authorities to compensate Moroccan workers who contribute to social security contributions and taxes.
