A workshop entitled “Prevention of Work Accidents at Limited Capacity Sites” was held on 23 September in the Ministry of Labour and Social Development in the presence of experts from the Ministry, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning, the Bahrain Petroleum Company, and 40 participants from contractors and workers in the construction sector.
A representative of the Ministry of Labour said that the objective of the workshop is to raise awareness among contractors and workers in the construction, road, sewerage, and private project sectors to prevent work-related accidents at sites with limited capacities.
The legal conditions and technical rules for working in closed and limited-capacity areas were defined. A number of work accidents and occupational health and safety measures were also presented in order to raise awareness of the importance of applying these standards to limit work accidents.
