The General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions (GFJTU) held a meeting on August 19 on the progress of the project “Climate Change and the Role of Trade Unions.” The President of the Federation and the Director of Programs at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation office in Jordan, and trade unions representatives were present.
Raising awareness of issues related to climate change has been addressed.
The participants discussed the opportunities and challenges that climate change poses on workers. They stressed the need of the participation of trade unions in facing the impacts of climate change in the short and medium term, in light of the difficult economic conditions.
