The Trade Union of Workers in Private Education showed that 60% of private schools did not provide teachers with a copy of the approved unified contract that regulates the relationship between teachers and the private school in which they work.
In a press release issued by the trade union on September 1st, many private schools use illegal drafts instead of the unified legal contract that guarantees the rights of teachers. The trade union stated that there are private schools that do not adhere to the minimum wage of 270 dinars or do not disburse the education grant of 10 dinars.
The trade union urged teachers in private schools to refuse payment lesser than the minimum wage and to report all violations to the ministry of labour.
