The National Federation of Forestry, Environment, and Nature Workers condemned the arson that took place in the forests of Algeria, described it as an act of terrorism, and called for strict measures against the responsible.
The Federation of Forest Workers affiliated within the General Union of Algerian Workers, in a statement, called for providing the necessary measures to intervene in controlling the fires. The federation called on the authorities to work hard to preserve the safety of the people living near the forests. The statement, also, stressed providing serious and urgent sponsorship of the forest sector.
It is worth noting that the Algerian News Agency announced today that 27 forest fires have been extinguished in 12 provinces during the last twenty-four hours. According to the General Directorate of Civil Protection most of the large forest fires in the north are under control.
