Jordan: Journalist training workshop to support a decent work environment and labour rights

The Justice Centre for Legal Aid (JCLA), in partnership with the Danish Refugee Council and with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, organized a training workshop entitled “The Role of Journalistic Investigations in Supporting a Decent Work Environment and Enhancing Labour Rights.”

20 local journalists specialized in human rights participated in this workshop, which was held on August 7 and 8.

The training included the theoretical aspect of human rights that dealt with the standards of a decent work environment both on the international and national levels. It also dealt with developing skills in investigation journalism and addressing the mechanism of selecting topics for labour investigations.

This workshop aims to improve the experience of journalists in the field of labour issues and rights and to develop skills in preparing press investigations in a way that serves the labour rights system and promotes a decent work environment.
