The Secretary-General of the National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises recently stated in the radio that 88,000 small and medium enterprises in the private sector went bankrupt out of a total of 771,000 enterprises.
He added that 54,000 other companies are close to bankruptcy, describing the situation of these institutions as catastrophic. He explained that this situation started since 2017 and got worse with COVID-19.
The official called on banks and insurance companies to postpone the repayment of debts and called for providing radical solutions to save enterprises and keep jobs.
