Jordan: Container port workers demand permanent contracts

Last week, workers of the Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) protested in front of the company headquarters to demand working contracts.

The protesters stated that they had been working in the company as daily-wage workers for seven to thirteen years.

These workers expressed the lack of job security, especially after the company decided to communicate with its workers via phone, to ask them to join work half an hour before the scheduled appointment. In case the worker joins late, their day will be cancelled.
