The General Federation of Trade Unions in Libya demanded the payment of the salaries of 200 foreign workers of different nationalities in companies going through a crisis.
In a statement to Bekam App, the President of the Federation, Nermin Al-Sharif, considered the non-disbursement of salaries of foreign workers a violation of international agreements ratified by Libya, such as Convention No. 111 (convention concerning discrimination in respect of employment and occupation).
The official stated that the federation called on the Ministry of Finance to pay the salaries of the foreign workers contracting with it, similarly to Libyan workers, until the government announces new decisions.
