Algeria: UGTA debates the legal age of retirement

The General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA) addresses the issue of retirement for any worker who has worked for 32 years again.

This announcement was made by the secretary-general during his participation in the vaccination campaign in the governorate of Mascara on Monday 16 August. He confirmed that it is unjust that the legal retirement age for workers who have completed 32 years of service is set at 60 years. The law, in this case, does not take into consideration the years of work in addition to 32 years in the calculation of the retirement.

In this context, the UGTA has decided to start negotiations on the retirement issue with the new government and Parliament.
