In Egypt, the launch of the first insurance system for workers in the informal economy has been announced, through a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Manpower and the National Social Insurance Authority starting from July 2021.
It has been announced that 11,000 workers in the informal economy had been enrolled in social insurance, and their insurance began as of July 1, 2021.
