The Administrative Board of the Public Administration Employees Association announced a strike on Wednesday, July 28.
The association demanded reducing the working hours in light of the departments’ lack of production basics and developing an emergency plan for the management of the public facility.
As for the financial aspect, the authority called for addressing the high cost of transportation by increasing the transportation allowance, raising the value of health and social insurances, and changing wages and grants according to the exchange rate of the lira on the official platform. The association stressed that its demands are the basic rights of employees.
It is worth noting that Lebanon is experiencing an economic crisis due to the collapse of the exchange rate of the Lebanese pound against the dollar.
