In the International Labour Conference, Pope Francis urged addressing the needs of vulnerable groups of workers, including particularly migrants.
Pope Francis indicated that the recovery of economies following the COVID-19 pandemic must take into consideration the situation of workers. In this context, he recalled that all workers have the right to have or be part of trade unions to defend their fundamental rights.
The Pope also referred to the situation of migrant workers, especially domestic workers and workers in the informal sector, who do not receive health care and are not included in social protection.
