Lebanon: Trade Union appeal for international support

The Syndicate of Users and Workers of the North Lebanon Water Establishment issued a statement announcing that, in addition to the difficult conditions the country is going through, the workers of the Lebanese Water Corporation are living in difficult conditions and that salaries no longer meet the minimum requirements for a decent life.

In this context, the syndicate warned of the danger of bankruptcy of water investment institutions in Lebanon resulting from its monetary and financial instability.

In its statement, the syndicate called on civil society and international NGOs to help employees and workers, including daily-wage workers in Lebanese water institutions, for the continuity of their work, providing good drinking water services, and maintaining public health.
