After the call of the volunteer team of the Petroleum Workers’ Union, workers in the private petroleum sector protested in Ahmadi on June 22 to demand being included in Law No. 28/1969.
The head of the team stated that about 14,000 Kuwaiti workers work in the private petroleum sector without rights. He added that the protest is an expression of their refusal to the officials’ indifference to their legitimate rights. They demand implementing the law and the judicial rulings and amending the Petroleum Corporation’s 2013 regulation.
The head of the Gulf Syndicate addressed the legitimacy of the protestors’ demands in enjoying all the rights of the sector.
