The Council of the Nurses Syndicate in Lebanon was renewed during the convening of the Ordinary General Assembly of the Syndicate on June 20, 2021.
The number of voters was 1,367 male and female nurses. A president, seven members of the Syndicate Council, two members of the Disciplinary Council, and six members of the Pension Fund Committee were elected.
The former president expressed appreciation of the efforts of nurses engaged directly in the fight against COVID-19 and the sacrifices they made despite the difficult economic conditions the country is going through.
For her part, the new president, Dr. Rima Emile Sassin, stressed the keenness for an effective and sustainable participation of the Nurses’ Syndicate in formulating health policies. Also, she affirmed the determination to improve the work environment in order to reduce the migration of nurses.
