A network of human trafficking has been dismantled in Nouakchott on June 15. The network brings sub-Saharan Africans to Mauritania and sends them to Europe.
The network includes three foreigners and Mauritanians. According to the security authorities in Nouakchott, the network was exposed when a forged document was seized by a foreigner to prove an asylum application with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Investigations have so far revealed members of the network.
