Oxfam: COVID-19 has cost women around the world over $800 billion

In a report published in April, Oxfam International said that COVID-19 has cost women around the world more than $800 billion in 2020.

The organisation explained that 64 million women have lost their jobs due to the pandemic, more than the combined GDP of 98 countries.

The report added that an additional 47 million women worldwide are expected to fall into extreme poverty by the end of this year.
