Following the total stoppage of the activities of the power plant of Deir Ammar Thursday, April 1st, after the exhaustion of stocks of diesel fuel provided to feed it, workers have organized a sit-in.
The protesters demand official contracts with the company and a salary increase in line with the economic situation.
The meeting held between the agents and the director-general of the company did not lead to satisfactory results for the protestors who have not obtained a regulation of their contract or a salary increase while they work without a contract since February 15th.
The director explained this rejection by the financial difficulties of the plant which are caused by the unpaid debts of the company of Electricity of Lebanon.
