The Jordanian Parliament has approved further reforms to the bill on human trafficking including “organised begging” in the text.
A member of the government explained when introducing the bill that organised begging is carried out by mafias that exploit particularly women and children for material purposes and that it counts as human trafficking. He added that the bill protects young beggars from exploitation and adults from forced labour.
