A Jordanian Studies Centre blamed the exclusive nature of the Jordanian labour law. It excludes employees of the public sector, municipal employees, family members of the employer, domestic workers, and agricultural workers. These workers are do not benefit from inspection particularly when it comes to occupational safety and health.
The Study Centre invites the authorities to further the inspection. The Jordanian constitution guarantees in the 23rd article the right to work and the state’s duty to protect the workers through its legislation including working hours, wages, compensations, diseases, and emergencies.
