The President of the Moroccan Economic, Social, and Environmental Council stated, based on statistics from the International Labour Office, that Morocco records 2000 deaths annually due to work accidents.
In view of the recurrence of labour accidents in the last period in Morocco, activists in the civil society called for establishing a national observatory for the prevention of work accidents and occupational diseases in Morocco, with the participation of work inspectors, doctors, jurists, and experts from various specialties.
In case the National Council is established, it will be an additional work tool specialized in occupational accidents, complementary to the Council of Occupational Medicine and Occupational Risks Prevention, which is supervised by the Ministry of Labour and Professional Integration.
