The Tunisian Organisation of Young Doctors (OTJM) in Sfax (in the south of the country) issued a press release last Thursday announcing that internal doctors and residents in charge of the Covid-19 unit will suspend work in the unit from Monday 7 December 2020. The doctors will only be working in the emergency department of the Habib Bourguiba Hospital and the emergency medical rescue service.
OTJM doctors are protesting against the accumulation of rubbish that makes work impossible and endangers the health of officers and patients. The strikers will only return to work when the administration removes the waste.
