Morocco: the CDT denounces the dismissal of trade unionists to the head of government

The Secretary-General of the Democratic Confederation of Labour (CDT), Abdelkader Zair, sent a letter to the head of the Moroccan government concerning the dismissal of members of the four trade union offices of the International Steel Group in Casablanca.

The dismissal decision was taken following the establishment of trade union offices in the Group’s factories by the CDT, which is opposed to all national legislation on freedom of association.

In this context, the trade union centre accused the regional authorities of wanting to put pressure on the workers to withdraw from the trade union offices and claimed that this was an abuse of power.
