On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and as part of the participation of the General Federation of Iraqi Trade Unions in the 15-day campaign to eliminate violence against women in the workplace, the Preparatory Committee and the Secretariat of Women Workers of the Federation organized, with the participation of women members of the Al Salhiah Cooperative Association in Baghdad, an awareness-raising campaign to call on the Iraqi government to ratify the International Labour Organization (ILO) International Convention Number 190 on Violence and Harassment in the World of Work.
It is worthy to note that Convention 190 and Recommendation 206 are the first international standards which recognize the right of everyone to a professional environment free from harassment or violence, including gender-based violence.
