At the end of a negotiation session held the day before yesterday, the Secretary General of the General Federation of Electricity and Gas, part of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT), announced the resumption of activities of all units of the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) after an initial agreement with the supervisory authorities.
Despite this agreement, the union leader retracted his statement, saying that the general strike scheduled for December 9 and 10 will not finally be called off until the agreement is signed next Wednesday during a reconciliation session.
It should be remembered that STEG officials are calling for a review of the promotion scale after the increase in the retirement age and its adaptation to the company's fundamental law.
