Morocco: New Spanish law allows automatic refoulement of irregular migrants

Last Thursday, the Spanish Constitutional Court approved a law that allows the automatic refoulement of irregular migrants from Spain to Morocco.

Under this law, the Spanish authorities of Ceuta and Melilla will be able to return migrants to Morocco at the time of their arrest under the supervision of the judicial authorities.

Several NGOs defending the rights of migrants have denounced the approval of such a law by the Constitutional Court. A law that will oblige all Moroccan migrants who enter Ceuta and Melilla illegally to return to Morocco.
