Italy: new report reveals the number of migrants arriving in Europe over the last 5 years

A new report on the evolution of migration flows into the European Union has revealed that around two million people have entered Europe illegally over the last five years.

Prepared by the 'Migranti' Foundation of the Italian Bishops' Conference, the report indicated that the majority of migrants have fled countries experiencing internal and external conflicts, without mentioning the countries in question.

According to the same document, only one hundred thousand migrants, or 5% of the two million who arrived in Europe in the last five years, were in need of international protection.
