The Tamkeen Centre for Legal Aid and Human Rights said that an evaluative study of the World Bank’s emergency cash transfer project to address the pandemic crisis, confirmed that people living on less than 68 dinars per month ($100) are extremely poor and that one million Jordanians live below the poverty line.
The study added that extreme poverty rates in Jordan are relatively high at 15.7% and indicated that 10% of Jordanians belong to the ten poorest classes, according to the national social protection strategy.
