The Office of Trade Union Services and Workers of Egypt reported that the crisis of employees of the health insurance funds in Port-Said took a new turn after the 318 employees, divided between nurses, doctors and chemists, have not received their last October salaries.
In this context, the staff members of the health insurance units in Port-Said the crisis is caused by the application of the new health insurance system in the region where those responsible have neglected the dependence of these units on the funds despite having contracts with the General Health Insurance Authority.
Employees in these units considered the October wage freeze to be a pressure to submit to the Health Administration for assignment which will significantly reduce their salaries (about a thousand pounds for each employee).
In this context, employees stated that they intend to continue their work and to claim to be included in the new health insurance system in order to preserve their salaries, thus refusing any assignment to the Ministry of Health.
