Last Wednesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Labor revealed that the Palestinian government will allocate $ 10 million of the $ 30 million provided by the World Bank to the government in order to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Palestinian Minister of Labor said that: “$ 10 million for the money-for-work program will benefit 3.200 workers who have been suspended from work due to the COVID-19 pandemic that led to major disruptions in the labor market, in addition to those resulting from the practices and policies of the Israeli occupation”.
The Minister also stressed that the importance of the World Bank’s grant which provided the Palestinian government with a value of 30 million dollars.
Commenting on the $ 30 million grant that the government obtained from the World Bank, the minister indicated that 6.1 will be allocated to needy families through the Ministry of Social Development, and 13.9 for the unemployed through the Ministry of Labor.
