The Union of Trade and Workers Services in Egypt announced that the workers of the Nile Insulation Materials Company had put an end to their sit-in after 23 days in response to the management’s agreement to their demands.
Workers of the Nile Insulation Materials Company in Alexandria had started their sit-in after the company’s management ignored their demands to increase incentives, include new workers in the health care system, disburse special occasions grants, increase wages, and rejecting to pay a percentage of profits to workers.
During the first few days of the first sit-in, the administration had neglected their demands before accepting to negotiate with the workers and agree to most of their demands.
On its part, the administration decided to disburse incentives and allowances increases of approximately 450 pounds (28 dollars) for all workers as well as include new workers in the health care system for those who had already spent three months at work and to get transferred to family care after a year has passed since joining the comapany.
The Administrative party had also agreed to the Eid Al-Adha grant which amounts to 400 pounds (25 dollars) for all employees of the company, which was approved by the workers and issued by the management in a publication that was put out as notice on Sunday 26 July 2020 and was a reason for stopping the sit-in of the company’s employees, starting Monday 27 July 2020.
