Egypt: “MIDO Paints and Coatings” Department Arbitrarly Dismisses 35 Workers

The management of the International Group for Modern Paints “MIDO Paints Company” in the city of Borg El Arab in Alexandria dismissed 35 workers in an arbitrary manner without providing clear reasons.

Workers responded by submitting a complaint and making a proof of record against the company’s management.

The details of the story go back to last Ramadan, when the administration deducted all incentives, including the nature of work and meal allowances from salaries, before the administration returned to deducting 15% from the workers’ basic wage for workers, which prompted the workers to file a complaint to the Ministry of Manpower in Alexandria.

However, the Burj Al Arab Manpower Office refusing letting the complaint go through and asked the workers to file the complaint through the official website.

It is noteworthy that this company has pursued an employees’ reduction policy since 2013, after having employed 1,.00 workers, the number decreased to 700 employees by 2020.
