Dozens of contracted workers in companies dealing with the Algerian company “Sonatrach” were surprised to receive greatly reduced salaries.
According to Algerian press sources, most of these workers, who are in companies specialized in hotel and catering services, had found themselves on a compulsory vacation because of the Coronavirus outbreak. As transportation had stopped operating, they had to stay in their homes.
It appears that a number of workers filed a complaint the the labor inspector in which they complained that they received incomplete wages despite official government orders to deliver full salaries to all workers who are subject to public quarantine measures in the country.
